This means using quality materials, appliances, and construction techniques to optimize energy use and insulate your home against humidity, drafts, and thermal loss. Not only are Phillippe Builders homes more comfortable as a result, but our insistence on energy conservation will save you money year after year. When purchasing a new home, it’s HERS index determines the homes energy efficiency much like a car’s MPG determines its fuel efficiency.

Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index

Energy efficiencies in your Phillippe Builders home can save $1,100 to $1,300 per year over a typical existing home and $600 to $775 per year over a typical new home. Our homes are independently tested to ensure performance standards and consistently earn a 5 star plus rating and between 60 and 65 on the HERS index. The testing includes but is not limited to blower door testing and duct testing.
